KeymasterWhat strategy are you starting to learn first and how are you learning that strategy? For example: Fix and flip and listening to podcasts.

ParticipantI started down the black hole when I found Bigger Pockets. I realized how large the REI community is and how much everyone wants to help. That led to reading Bigger Pockets books, which is what told me to find the local REIA. What started as wanting to learn a little bit about rentals has turned into me wanting to pursue BRRRR.

KeymasterLinda thanks for checking us out. The BRRRR is a great strategy. However there are a lot of moving pieces to completing the BRRRR. Some deals I got all my money I invested back some deals I didn’t. Just be aware of the pitfalls and have a back up plan.

ParticipantHi Michael & Linda,
I began my journey with home-sharing (STR) in 2015. Once Covid hit, I decided to move in with my SO and use my entire home as an STR. I just signed up with AZREIA a couple of months ago, and since then, I have been very busy. I started an LLC; I have been updating the property, listening to various podcasts, and attending meetings to learn as much as possible. I just signed up for Launch Pad and am looking forward to that. I would love to invest in a few more properties to convert into STR’s. Of course, I am always looking for other forms of education/people to speak with, so if you have any suggestions, I am all ears!
It is great to connect!

KeymasterAmanda,
Thanks for joining AZREIA and getting involved with the community. I would stay active like you’re doing. Continuing to educate yourself about STR and RE investing and build relationships will be key.

ParticipantGood Question!
I started watching lots of videos at YouTube University! Just like @Linda, they told me to go to join my Local REIA. So, that’s what made me sign up. I went to the Beginner Investors meeting and learned about a boatload of different strategies, which sent me back to YouTube.
I watched the videos and realized in order to scale quickly, I needed inside access to deals. So, I joined the WHOLESALE course at AZEIA and I started cold calling and searching for deals. I’m learning how to talk to sellers and negotiate.

ParticipantMy journey started as part of a life long general interest in personal finance, and following the F.I.R.E movement on ChooseFI, Mr Money Mustache, Financial Samurai, Bigger Pockets
Currently working on cashflow investing by reading books and various REI meetups.
Thanks to AZREIA I will use more marketing and written processes to improve my scalability -
